Zsófi has a master’s degree in Cell and Developmental Biology from ELTE and a PhD from Semmelweis University. Her PhD research focused on predictive biomarkers of cancer chemotherapy resistance. During these years she spent several months studying abroad through various research scholarships at Harvard in Boston, at the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital in Barcelona and at the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine in Berlin. After finishing her PhD she moved to California and worked at the University of California, Davis as a postdoctoral researcher studying micro-environmental effects on breast cancer development. She later started teaching Genetics at UC Davis and Intro Biology at American River College, Sacramento. She is returning to Hungary after five years of work in the United States.
