Originally from Russia, Zlata moved to Hungary to pursue her MA in Nationalism Studies at the Central European University (CEU) and an MA in European Studies and International Relations at Corvinus University, Budapest. She also holds a BA in Area Studies with a specialisation in Central Asia. Currently she works in the Department of International Relations at CEU, where she is responsible for managing and coordinating Masters programmes. Prior to this position, Zlata spent two years with the Human Rights Initiative (HRSI) at CEU, where she was responsible for several awareness raising and capacity building projects related to human rights in cooperation with various NGOs. She also held a research position with the Minority Rights Group (MRG). If not at CEU or Milestone, Zlata can be found at the tennis court, at the classical ballet studio, hiking or dancing Argentine tango.
