Born in Kazakhstan, Vladimir holds an MA degree in economics from Central European University. A trained journalist, he has worked as a reporter for several newspapers in Kazakhstan and the US. He is currently pursuing a PhD degree at CEU, where his research focuses on applying network theory to economic problems. He is also interested in applied game theory, applied econometrics and sports economics. In his free time, he likes to study languages and play tennis.
