Tessza Udvarhelyi is a cultural anthropologist and environmental psychologist. She received her PhD at the City University of New York in 2013. Her research interests include housing and homelessness, public spaces and social movements. She has published several articles in journals and newspapers in both English and Hungarian. Her first book, Travelers Across Cultures, was published in 2007, and her second book, which came out in 2014, is entitled Justice on the Streets – Responses to the Housing Crisis in Hungary. Since 2002, Tessza has been working as a youth worker and intercultural trainer for the Artemisszió Foundation, and she is a co-founder of The City is for All, the only homeless-led grassroots homeless advocacy group in Hungary.
