Marcell received his BSc in the United States from the University of Rochester in Brain & Cognitive Sciences, an interdisciplinary program at the intersection of Biology, Psychology and Philosophy. He completed his Master’s degree in Neural & Behavioral Sciences at the International Max Planck Research School in Tübingen, where he used fMRI to study attention, social cognition and consciousness. Subsequently, he spent a year performing academic research in Belgium, working with adolescents in car simulator experiments. He explored the relationship between risky driving and cognitive control. Subsequently, he also took part in an early stage drug development project targeting the cellular mechanisms that play a crucial role in the aging process of the brain. He is also proud of his sabbatical periods, during which he studied the Culinary Arts and Buddhism. In his leisure time he enjoys outdoor adventures involving mountains, bikes, sailboats or any combination of those.
