László graduated from the University of Cambridge, where he studied Mathematics and Computer Science. He then completed his MSc and PhD in Economics at the Catholic University of Leuven. He obtained his doctorate from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 2020. He is currently a scientific advisor and head of the Game Theory Research Group at the Centre for Economics and Regional Studies (one of the former institutes of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences) and professor and director of the Research Centre for Quantitative Social and Management Sciences at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. His academic interests include game theory, economic theory and social choice, especially cooperative game theory, the apportionment problem and applications to energy economics and voting.
