A dual citizen of Finland and Hungary, Ilona has an innate international outlook on life, further strenghtened by her international work and study experience. Ilona holds degrees in History and International Relations from the École des Hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS) in Paris, Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, Sciences Po Paris and the University of Tampere. Ilona is passionate about research in humanities and social sciences, with her research areas ranging from trade unionism to Euroscepticism, but her main specalisation is nationalism. Prior to joining the Milestone team, Ilona gained experience in diplomacy at the Permanent Mission of Finland to the OSCE in Vienna. Currently, she works for the School of Public Policy at Central European University. Ilona’s favourite pastimes include opera, ballet, sports and reading, in addition to maintaining her international circle of friends.
