Gyöngyvér obtained an MSc in Mathematics in Budapest, but later changed her mind and left maths for art history. After completing her second master’s degree at Eötvös Loránd University, she obtained a PhD in Art History from the University of East Anglia in Norwich. Her research concerns visual narratives, namely paintings and fresco cycles that tell stories. Gyöngyvér has a wide range of experience in various areas of art history. She served as assistant professor at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design and in addition worked on art exhibitions in 9 European cities, from Stockholm all the way to Istanbul. To continue her research in pictorial storytelling, she has recently received grants from Harvard and Princeton Universities. Gyöngyvér enjoys travelling and, not surprisingly, visiting museums.
