Gergely Dálya studies physics at the Eötvös Loránd University. His main areas of interest are gravitational waves, cosmology and exoplanetary systems. He works in the Hungarian LIGO group, the Eötvös Gravity Research Group on creating and improving a full-sky galaxy catalog aimed to help the electromagnetic follow-up of gravitational wave events and on testing astrophysical models with gravitational waves. He is committed to working with talented students: he is one of the preparing teachers of the Hungarian team for the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics, and a leader of the astronomical olympiad study group of Budapest. In his free time he likes travelling, mountaineering and playing football.
