Gábor obtained an MSc in biology, majoring in ecology and evolutionary biology, a teacher’s degree in biology and bilingual teacher’s degree at Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest. Later, he also acquired a teacher’s degree in chemistry at the University of Debrecen. He did his PhD studies at Eötvös Loránd University, where he taught undergraduate courses in plant systematics and history of biology to Hungarian and international students. His research focus was plant ecophysiology, especially how arbuscular micorrhizal fungi influence plant invasions. Gábor started teaching in a secondary school while he was still a PhD student. He lived in London and taught biology and chemistry at St. Benedit’s Senior School in the 2006/2007 academic year. Currently, Gábor is teaching at Szent László Secondary School in Budapest. He likes hiking in his free time as well as during holidays, exploring natural habitats and local vegetation. He is a member of the Hungarian Biological Association and the Hungarian Chemical Society. He received the Teachers’ Research Award from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 2013.
