Attila Gulyas got his MSc in biology at ELTE but has a strong affinity to physics and had been programming, as a hobby and as a tool, during his career. He made his PhD in Neuroscience and is the Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He has been a researcher for many decades. worked at a researcher in England, France, Finland and the USA. First as a neuroanatomist, identified cortical neuron types and their connectivity. Then he switched to be an electrophysiologist to pursue further the same question with different tools: How do cortical neurons interact and generate network activity? He supervised many BSc, MSc and PhD students and was teaching at courses of different universities (ELTE, Semmelweis, Pazmany).
In his free time he likes to travel to exotic places, preferably on foot and in tent, hike and bike.
