Andras Gerevich was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1976. He studied at the Eötvös Lóránd University of Budapest, Dartmouth College in the USA (on a Fulbright scholarship) and the National Film and Television School in the UK. Gerevich has published four books of poetry in his native Hungarian, and his work has been translated into over a dozen languages. He scripted several prize-winning short artistic animation films, and his plays have been staged in both Budapest and London. He has also published literary translations, essays and stories, and was the editor for two literary journals: Kalligram in Budapest and Chroma in London, an assistant producer for the radio program Poetry by Post for the BBC World Service, and at present teaches screenwriting and dramaturgy at the Budapest Metropolitan University and creative writing at Vassar College in New York.
