Pharmaceutical industry is one of the sectors with the largest income, due to the expensive process of drug discovery. The research and clinical tests cost about 1 billion $ in case of an entirely new drug and takes about 10 years. In this module students are going to study the drug development process (from in vitro experiments to clinical studies), and basics of organic chemistry synthesis, spectroscopy methods (NMR, MS and X-ray) and the concept of virtual screening. We are going to deal with the future of drug discovery, that is, assisted by artificial intelligence.
