The philosophy tutorial is a lively, interactive dispute and discussion centred module that focuses on developing a broad understanding of fundamental issues and questions from the tradition of continental and analytical philosophy as well as help students gain a sense for how these issues can be approached, interpreted and challenged. The tutorial is structured around exploring philosophical questions and problems that range from the nature of truth and knowledge, the relationships of mind and matter, notions and concepts and theories of being, reality, space and time, notions of morality and justice, methods as well as principles of logical reasoning and validity. The aim of the course is to help its participants to develop their analytical and reasoning skills and mobilise the knowledge they gain from their readings and the discussions in order to be able to employ the above in a competitive academic setting.
