Physical Chemistry

This module is concerned with the physical aspects of chemistry. In this module we will cover the properties of gases and pure substances, we will discuss the First and the Second Law of Thermodynamics, and how one can use them in chemistry. The principles of chemical equilibrium and electrochemistry will be studied, after which we will go into the field of the chemical kinetics i.e. the rates of chemical reactions. In case there is time and interest we are going to speak about some introduction to quantum chemistry. Physical Chemistry is in the first trimester in Oxbridge, so participating in this module will help to understand the material beforehand.
