The Cognitive Psychology course will aim to provide a broad introduction to cognitive psychology. It will focus on: • Higher-order cognition: executive functions, reasoning and intelligence. • Issues related to development and individual differences. • Research methods and empirical paradigms. It will aim to uncover conceptual issues in cognitive psychology and cognitive development. It will examine human memory, long term memory, short-term memory, and working memory. It will examine intelligence; individual differences; fluid reasoning; and executive functions. The course will be of interest to students aiming to study psychology, especially from the vantage point of the natural sciences, and who are keen to get to know the empirical side of modern psychological research.
