The module will enable students to find “stories” and convey these in a colourful, balanced and objective manner, while expressing themselves clearly and concisely. As such, the course will focus on written journalism and offers glimpses into multimedia and current trends in social media. It will develop the students’ ability to critically view and analyse texts and enhances their research, interviewing and writing skills. Students are encouraged to investigate the media in order to examine how presentations of events, people and places are created and perceived, especially those of minorities and other vulnerable groups. The course will be useful for students interested in social sciences and humanities including media, writing, communications and sociology.
