Social Sciences

This module is primarily intended for students who plan on applying to economics as their favoured university subject – either by itself or in combination. It is complementary to the module on macroeconomics, together with which they are designed to form a point of departure for preparing the academic part of students’ university application. As such, the microeconomics module is intended to introduce into the modelling of economic problems and decisions – using both words, graphs and equations. In the first part of the module a more theoretical stance will be taken in modelling consumer and producer behaviour in the market. In the second part the techniques learnt here will be applied to a set of real life markets, such as the markets of labour, land and capital.
