The module is an introduction to the scientific study of human behavior and is designed to introduce students to the study of psychology. The course explores how something as complex as human behavior can be studied scientifically. We will examine how mental, biological, social and environmental factors influence human behavior, and explores ways in which humans behave, reason, remember and feel. The course intends to provide broad coverage of the field by presenting basic theories, research, and applied use of psychology. Areas that will be covered include: biological bases of behavior, human development, sensation, perception, learning, intelligence, motivation, emotions, personality, mental disorders and their treatment, social psychology, and research methods.
