This module’s aim is twofold: firstly, to give an in-depth look to select advanced topics in the field of psychology, and secondly, to equip students with the necessary skill sets and conceptual framework to design their own empirical research study in a psychological topic. For the first aim, students will receive lectures and opportunities to discuss state-of-the-art research on topics such as social cognition, intelligence, and pain perception. For the second aim, students will be provided with practical sessions, each delving into the four parts of a research proposal: Introduction, Methodologies, Results, and Discussion. At the end of the module, students will be expected to independently design and write up their own research proposal, which can be presented on external platforms, such as the TUDOK conference organised by KutDiak.
