21/1 – The Language of Colour

This module is for the curious and open-minded, it should show you how humanities and arts subjects could be considered the cornerstone of Western civilisation. This course provides an introduction to the arts and humanities through interdisciplinary approaches to colour. Its intention is to show how different perspectives can influence our readings of literature, film, art and history. Simultaneously students will be required to both think creatively and produce creative work, using practical skills as tools to better understand theoretical or scientific principles. Essentially its goal is to show the boundaries not only between the arts but also between science, that one role of academic study is to enrich your chosen subject by looking at it in different ways.
