Ani Nguyen, the Senior student of Milestone Institute (student of ELTE Radnóti Miklós Elementary and Secondary School) won the Junior Squirrel Award for ‘Best Film made by Teens’ at the Cinemira International Children’s Film Festival. The film ‘When’ by Milestone Institute’s Senior student is about bicultural identity from the perspective of a second-generation immigrant. The Senior student was supported by her former mentor David Crisp on her way to success.
“To see my film on the big screen in front of a wider audience, made me nervous at first but was uplifting at the same time. I hope that the film inspires other people to speak up about this topic and express themselves freely.” – added Ani.
With her film ‘When’ Ani also won second place at the Kecskemét Animation Film Festival in the ‘Student Films’ category. We congratulate Ani!
