At the end of March, Milestone co-founder and Head of External Relations, Ádám Zeitler, was invited by the Kolozsvári Megyei Ifjúsági Fórum to give a lecture at the Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania. The pedagogy conference was held in Kolozsvár and provided a perfect opportunity to meet with local student communities and pedagogic associations and to introduce Milestone’s educational philosophy, programmes and teaching methods to those prospective teachers who are studying at Hungarian speaking universities outside Hungary.

At the pedagogy forum, Ádám focused his lecture on the Milestone Institute’s student-centered academic programmes which encourage critical thinking, autonomous learning and research in addition to an emphasis on the process of orientation which occurs at all stages of the Milestone experience.

In his hour and a half interactive lecture, Ádám captured the audience’s attention by highlighting the immersion into different academic disciplines which plays a central role in enabling Milestone students to find their individual study pathways and to become familiar with a variety of professions and working environments. Ádám also highlighted the societal myths surrounding conventional employment paths. These, he argued, were often misleading and should be challenged if the aim was to provide the kind of education which fosters the fulfillment of students’ potentials as broadly as possible.
