The debate must go on: shorty after the memorable mentor vs. student debate night at the end of January, the Milestone Debating Society took the lead in organising the official Hungarian regional round of the Oxford Schools’ Debating Competition. High school teams from all parts of Hungary, from Budapest to Debrecen and Miskolc, came together on Sunday at the Milestone Institute to engage in thought-provoking and intense debates in order to qualify for the finals of this prestigious high school debating tournament.

Four teams reached the Hungarian finals, and in the end the privilege to represent our country in Oxford this year was earned by the Milestone Hounds team (Péter Csitkovics and András Sárosi) who were also awarded as the best speakers of the competition. Our Institute and the Milestone Debating Society would like to thank everyone who made this event possible, including the high school teachers who contributed and showed their support for the teams. We are also very proud of the performance of all of our students and we wholeheartedly support the Milestone Hounds this March in the finals in Oxford.
