Another international success achieved by a Milestoner: our Senior student Balázs Klapper has partaken in the International Youth Competition organised by the Eilat-Eilot Renewable Energy Initiative this November in Israel. About half a year ago, students were selected and teamed up to work together on a proposal, before travelling to Israel in order to present their project at this conference-competition. Balázs and his group designed a special device for cooling down air in off-grid countries; using the proposed thermodynamic cycle this device can serve as an eco-friendly air conditioner for 10 houses in hot places like Africa.
Balázs’s team came 5th in the high school category on sustainable energy, and on the sidelines of the conference he and the other students had the opportunity to visit off-grid villages in the Arava region in Israel.
