Essay prize in Philosophy

February 2, 2016 | Milestone Institute

tolerianTeaching students how to write academic essays is an essential part of our curriculum. As a corollary, we also encourage them to take part in competitions such as the John Locke Institute Essay Competition, which is adjudicated by academics from the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford. This year, a record number of essays were submitted from all over the world in the four categories of History, Philosophy, Economics and Politics. It is thus with special pleasure that we announce that one of our students, Tamas Tolerian, received a commendation in the Philosophy category. He wrote his essay on the question whether the moral doctrine of utilitarianism can have absolute principles or not.
